The Thief

All day long she waited
for the thief who was well baited
her big dark eyes longed for his look
and she hid away stealthily, behind a book
And at last he arrived
with splendor suited pride
she peeped and saw
leaped and paw’
at the sheer sight
for there he stood, the thief mightily bright
her eyes filled with wonder
her heart was set to ponder
but the thief noticed her not
unperturbed, not knowing he was caught
slowly she came out of her her hiding
and then did he notice the little girling
A moment passed by when both of their eyes met
he knew his time was up and with his wings open he was all set
(For he was a magpie
and she was the cutie pie)
Still the bashful thief continued his work
After he finished, flew back to his lurk
And left amazed was the four year-old child
with her pranks made, her little heart wild
